Facebook has officially changed name to Meta
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new name of Facebook’s company brand to signify their shift in business focusing on the metaverse.
What is the metaverse?
The metaverse is an online universe which uses augmented reality technology to bring a new future to the way we interact online.
Is this the end of Facebook?
Not to worry, Facebook will still keep the same name. Meta will now replace Facebook as the parent company for Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapchat. The business will merge these platforms with new technologies to create a virtual, interactive universe.
